Urgent Action needed to pass School Choice!

In October, the state Senate passed Senate Bill #1 (SB1), the school choice bill.  The bill would expand the education tax credits which fund scholarships for private education, and would start a voucher program for the bottom 5% of failing schools in Pennsylvania.  The Governor campaigned on this legislation, and now the House is in the driver seat and could derail the entire bill!Please call your state reps and ask them to support this bill in it’s entirety.  Due to pressure from the teachers’ union, they want to take out the voucher component of the bill.  This component is the whole purpose of the bill in the first place!Please call ASAP:Rick Geist 717-787-6419 or locally 946-7218Jerry Stern  717-787-9020Mike Fleck in Huntingdon and part of Tyrone:  717-787-3335Make sure you emphasize we need them to KEEP the VOUCHER component in the bill!  Ask for a written response as to how your rep is going to vote.If you have time, it would also be helpful to call the Governor’s office:717-787-2500The Governor campaigned on this issue and needs to help pass this bill! Let your friends and neighbors know what is going on and that we need help in contacting our state reps this week!If you have any questions please call me anytime.Lois Kaneshiki207-0011
